Gauchos gallop over Gothams

The 14-and-Under Lower East Side Gauchos baseball team beat the Gothams, a powerhouse team from the Upper West Side, on Wednesday night at East River Park, 2-0. The game featured two of the top teams in Manhattan and was errorless on both sides. Tall lefty Nelson Jimenez (LaSalle High School) pitched a 4-hit shutout for the Gauchos, striking out eight.

The night before, the Gauchos beat the New York Angels, 23-5, in the Bronx.
