Gay Pride shines through even in the pouring rain

A torrential downpour on Sunday afternoon couldn’t come close to dampening spirits at the annual Gay Pride March. The feeling was especially jubilant this year following Governor David Paterson’s order in May for all state agencies to recognize gay or lesbian marriages performed outside New York State. Paterson, who participated in the march, was the star, getting the day’s biggest cheers.
