Chinatown’s 11th annual Lunar New Year Parade made history Sunday as Asian gays and lesbians marched as a group for the first time in the parade’s history. A person dressed as Tony the Tiger led the contingent waving a pride flag while celebrating the beginning of the Year of the Tiger, right. Gay leaders said it was also the first time an East Coast Lunar New Year parade ever had a gay group. The parade also had the traditional lion and dragon dancers and drew tens of thousands of people.
