When police arrived at the scene, they found Rodriguez conscious with trauma to his face and body. EMS transported the 66-year-old to NYC Health and Hospital/Harlem in stable condition. He was then transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Aug. 18, shortly after his 67th birthday.
