Cinco de Mayo is right around the corner and to celebrate Hornitos Tequila will host an inaugural Mex Gala in Manhattan on May 5.
Similar to fashion’s most talked about evening, the Met Gala, Hornitos’ event will be an evening full of music, dancing, cultural expression and more. The celebration, happening at The Supply House, 1647 2nd Ave. on the Upper East Side, promises to be one of the most inclusive gatherings of the year.
The minds behind the gala hope festival-goers can embrace Cinco de Mayo with friends and family without the constraints of formal invitations.
According to Ivan Hidalgo, vice president of Tequila at Suntory Global Spirits, the team’s decision to open the event to everyone was intentional, with hopes that all would embrace the holiday.
“At Hornitos Tequila, creating experiences that bring people together is what we’re all about. Rooted in Mexican heritage, we see Cinco de Mayo as a celebration meant for everyone,” Hidalgo said in a statement. “The Hornitos Mex Gala is our way of turning that belief into action—a bold, joyful expression of inclusivity and connection. With great tequila, music, and good vibes, we’re making sure that no matter who you are or where you are, you’ve got everything you need to be part of the party—no formal invite needed.”
Keyla Monterroso Mejia, an actress known for her roles in Apple TV’s ‘The Studio,’ ABC’s ‘Abbott Elementary’ and more, will be at the forefront of the gala, encouraging everyone to join in the festive atmosphere.
“Join me as we come together to celebrate good times and great tequila—everyone is invited,” Monterroso Mejia said ahead of the event.
