Jose Torres charged with fatally stabbing roommate in the Bronx, NYPD says

The NYPD has arrested a man accused of fatally stabbing his roommate in the Bronx.

Police said an argument between Jose Torres, 51, and the 58-year-old victim, who has not been identified, led to the stabbing.

Police said officers who were called to a home on University Avenue near West 195th Street just after 1 a.m. on Tuesday found the victim unconscious with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police released a sketch of Torres, who was ultimately arrested hours later, the NYPD said.

Torres is charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, they said.
