Cops search for man in lower Manhattan slashings

The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male involved in a spontaneous slash attack in Manhattan’s Lower East Side on July 24.

At approximately 11:20 p.m., the black male, last seen wearing a white tee shirt and black shorts, was reportedly involved in a dispute with several individuals in front of 60 2nd Ave, when a 36-year-old female victim and a 32-year-old male intervened to try and diffuse the confrontation.

Resultantly, the 36-year-old female victim was slashed in her forearm and the 32-year-old male was slashed in the back by the male with an unidentified sharp instrument. The male fled the location in an unknown direction. The victims were transported to NYC Health & Hospitals/Bellevue and treated for non-life threatening lacerations.
