The New York Liberty continued to be the destination in the WNBA on Thursday when free agent Courtney Vandersloot announced she would be signing in the Big Apple. Her announcement came a little more than 24 hours after WNBA superstar Breanna Stewart signed with the Liberty.

The offseason additions have bolstered the Liberty’s chances of winning a WNBA title — which would be the franchise’s first — in the near future. Vandersloot is considered one of the best point guards in league history and helped guide the Chicago Sky to a WNBA title in 2021.

Vandersloot’s contract is still being negotiated, according to ESPN, in order for her contract along with Stewart’s to fit under the salary cap. Stewart is expected to take significantly less on her deal in order to fit Vandersloots’ contract, according to the report.

New York has significantly added to their roster this offseason with two of the best players in the world calling Barclays Center home next season in Stewart and Jonquel Jones, along with star Sabrina Ionescu.

The Liberty open their season on May 19 in Washington D.C.
