Next month, Lincoln Center will be presenting a two-night dance festival. “Reunions” will be curated by renowned choreographer and MacArthur Fellow, Kyle Abraham.

Abraham, founder of A.I.M., created many original works for his company, such as “The Radio Show,” “Absent Matter,” “Pavement,” “Dearest Home,” “Drive,” “INDY,” “Studies on Farewell” and “An Untitled Love.” Abraham is bringing alumni from his company with him to Lincoln Center. Rena Butler, Kayla Farish, Vinson Fraley, Nicole Mannerino, Chalvar Monteiro, Jie-Hung Connie Shiau and Maleek Washington will all be joining in on the performance.

The dance group is known for their distinctive style of choreography. They will be performing from Aug. 6 – 7. More information about their show can be found here.

Lincoln Center is bringing New York City these performances as a part of their Summer for the City initiative. Their goal is to bring healing and rejuvenation to the city after years of trials and tribulations through the performance arts. Nearly all of their shows, including this performance, are free to attend.

“I believe the arts are strongest when in conversation with their communities and their moments in time. We are listening closely and humbly, and inviting New Yorkers to actively participate—through social dance, singalongs, pre-performance rituals, civic activations, and much more—this summer and beyond,” said Ehrenkranz Chief Artistic Officer Shanta Thake. “We are also thrilled to be making the arts more accessible to more New Yorkers, with Free offerings all summer long, and select indoor performances using a Choose-What-You-Pay ticketing model.”

Returning for its second year will be the BAAND Together Dance Festival. The festival will be bringing together Ballet Hispánico, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet and Dance Theatre of Harlem all for a series of performances spanning from Aug. 9 – 13. The festival was made possible by the sponsorship of CHANEL. Additional information about the performances can be found here.

Abraham will be making 1 more appearance at Lincoln Center, accompanied by composer Jlin, they will premier “Requiem: Fire in the Air of the Earth.” The show is an exploration of death and reincarnation through a reimagining of Mozart’s Requiem in d minor. It will be showing from Aug. 11 – 13. More information concerning tickets can be found here.
