Man dies after being hit by car in Hell’s Kitchen: NYPD

A man died on Tuesday morning after he was hit by a car in Hell’s Kitchen.

At 8:08 a.m. on June 1, the NYPD responded to a 911 call regarding a motor vehicle collision with a pedestrian struck on West 42nd Street near 11th Avenue. Upon their arrival, officers found a 44-year-old man who had been hit by a car, unconscious with trauma to his head.

EMS rushed the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

The driver remained at the scene following the incident. The investigation is ongoing by the New York City Police Department’s Highway Patrol Collision Investigation Squad.
