Mary Ann Michaels, senior police administrative aide at the Sixth Precinct in Greenwich Village, died suddenly Mon., Nov. 23, at her home in New Windsor, N.Y.
She was born July 26, 1941, in Manhattan, the daughter of Elsie and Gus Michaels, and attended Julia Richman High School on E. 67th St. She was appointed police administrative aide in 1981 and was assigned to the Management Information Systems Division at Police Plaza in Lower Manhattan. Promoted to senior P.A.A. on Sept. 29, 1995, she was transferred to the Village precinct on W. 10th St.
A dedicated member of the precinct, she performed the myriad tasks of the station’s administrative office. An avid cat lover, she regularly attended cat shows and exhibited her Oriental shorthairs at various venues. Members of the Sixth Precinct fondly recall her as a charming conversationalist who will be greatly missed.
