The Manhattan Youth Players, a theater group of young teenagers, will perform a re-creation of the evening that President Abraham Lincoln was shot. Theseus Roche will direct the group of students from Lower Manhattan as they reenact “Our American Cousin,” the play that Lincoln was watching on the fateful night of April 14, 1865. The after school club has been busy rehearsing since September and in addition, the students have been studying elements of stagecraft and design. The 2006 Winter Theatre production will be held in the Auditorium of I.S. 89 at 201 Warren St. All performances will begin at 7 p.m. on January 12, 13, 19 & 20. Tickets are $5 at the door.
