Lynch, who won with 70 percent of the vote in the contest with Brian Fusco, called the results "a mandate" to continue doing "what's in the best interest of our members." Lynch has served 16 years as president of the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association. The union is currently in a years-long contract dispute that has gone to state arbitration. The contract expired in 2010. By Newsday Staff Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Comments Comments section is temporarily on hold. Here’s why.
