While the rest of the East Coast prepares for the first big snowstorm of the season, Long Island has bigger concerns – involving a lizard, apparently.

A blizzard warning alert displayed as “Lizzard Warning” on a parkway monitor, according to a photo that’s being shared by thousands across social media.

The warning of a reptile hitting the area between 4 a.m. Saturday and Sunday showed up over the Northern State Parkway on Friday, Twitter users say.

Long Islander Daniel SanFilippo was driving on the Northern State Parkway around 4 p.m. today when he noticed the sign and snapped the photo. He tweeted the image saying, "Must be some storm coming..the lizzard warnings are going out."

The photo is circulating across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Imgur and Reddit. It has even been turned into a meme, which reads, “Here on Long Island we have a Lizzard warning, this is serious. Worse than a sharknado.”
