Burglary suspect sought
Police are seeking a suspect in the June 5, 2006, burglary of an apartment at 10 Stanton St. The man, who was working as a porter in the building at the time, was described as a black Hispanic man in his early 50s, between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet 1 inch, weighing between 220 and 280 pounds. He had a crew cut and a goatee at the time of the burglary, and used the name Felix Alcantara on his employment application, according to a police bulletin issued Oct. 16.
A police spokesperson said Fifth Precinct detectives recently contacted headquarters to get the word out about the open case.
Drowned teen identified
The teen whose body was recovered from the East River at Pier 17 on Oct. 2 was identified last week as Jin Lin, 16, of 93 Madison St., police said.
Body found
The police harbor unit responded to a call on Tuesday morning Oct. 17 and retrieved the body of an unidentified woman at 8:45 a.m. from the East River off Pine St. near Pier 11.
