Muggers take bike

A man was punched in the face and had his bike stolen last week in the Financial District, police say.

Two teens, both 15, had a dispute with the man, 28, at 6:15 p.m. in front of 60 Wall St. on Fri., Mar. 13, Police say one of the teens said, “Where’s my money?” Both struck the Queens man in the face with a closed fist causing him bruising and pain. They then grabbed his bike and took off.

Police caught them, however, and the two teen boys were arrested that same day.

 

Tourist attacked

A tourist was attacked from behind when a man smacked her on the left side of the head and then fled, police say.

The woman, 47 and from Minnesota, was walking with her niece, 22 and from North Dakota, on Wooster St. in Soho at around 5 p.m. on Sun., Mar. 15 when the attack happened. She was taken by ambulance to Lenox Hill because of a laceration on her head.

The reason for the attack is not known nor is the object the man hit her with. Police say he fled south on Wooster St.

 

Bikini bar heist

Nassau Bar, a place where the bartenders sport skimpy bikinis, was the scene of a backpack heist worth $2,800.

On Fri., Mar. 6, a man, 35, was exchanging information with his client at around 11 p.m. at the bar, located at 118 Nassau St., police say. He left his backpack, which held an Apple MacBook Pro and mouse and John Wiley & Sons construction books, unattended on the floor and it was swiped.

Police arrested a man, 45, on Sun., Mar. 15 for the crime.

 

iPhones stolen

On Thurs., Mar. 12, two men went into an AT&T store at 82 Wall St. at around 2 p.m., grabbed two iPhones — one valued at $650, one at $750 —and ran out, police say. A 26-year-old female employee reported the crime and told police that neither phone had their tracking devices activated.

 

Shoplifters net 5 grand

Shoplifters continue to flock to the Saint Laurent Paris store at 80 Greene St. in Soho.

On Sun., Mar. 15, two men walked into the store at 3:45 p.m., snatched two purses off the display rack, put them inside their jacket and left, police say. The bags were worth a total of $5,640. Police say video shows the thieves fleeing north on Spring St.

It was the store’s fourth shoplifting crime in three months.

 

Desperately seeking sports bras?

Three men stole $1,230 in women’s Nike apparel from a Modell’s at 150 Broadway in the Financial District on Wed., Mar. 11, police say.

A male employee, 27, told police that the men — described as around 20 and 6 ft. —came to the store and went straight to the women’s apparel section at 4:30 p.m. When they left, each carrying a bag, the employee said that the entire rack had been taken and security tags were strewn on the floor.
