Jim Power, the “Mosaic Man,” is out of the hospital after a serious accident in which he broke his shoulder and hand in a fall in the shower in his Bushwick apartment.
Although he’s on the mend, he said it was a real shock to see his loyal canine companion, Jesse Jane, who was cared for by friends while he was in the Veterans Affairs Hospital.
“I have to retrain my dog,” he said. “She was joyrided around town. She has no concept of being a service dog anymore. I didn’t even recognize her.”
Power is also launching a fundraising effort — basically for himself.
“Sander Hicks will manage my affairs. He is now my agent,” Power said of the maverick publisher of Soft Skull Press.
