She was 36. Born Diana Spencer, the Princess of Wales was known for her tumultuous marriage and divorce from the British heir to the throne as well her charity work and her fashion choices. Princess Diana died on Aug. 31, 1997 in a car crash while fleeing from paparazzi in Paris. In commemoration of her life, take a look at some photos of Diana in the 1990s and 80s.
