Sandra Lee back home with Gov. Cuomo and birds

Food Network star Sandra Lee is back home with boyfriend Gov. Andrew Cuomo and her birds after undergoing surgery for a double mastectomy to treat breast cancer.

A Facebook image posted on Memorial Day showed her lounging on a couch with a grinning Cuomo and a white bird on her knee.

“Home after a long week in the hospital, so happy to be in my own backyard,” the post read. “There is no place like home!”

Earlier in the day, her team had posted another photo showing Lee in her hospital bed. It was an “exciting day” because she got to gome home. “She is most excited to sleep in her own bed a and see Phoenix and Halo (her birds) when she wakes up!”

Lee, 48, underwent the five-hour surgery early last week, with updates about the procedure posted on Facebook and Twitter. The cancer was first detected in its early stages after a mammogram in March, Lee said in an appearance on ABC’s “Good Morning America” on May 12.

Lee hosts several shows on the Food Network, has authored a number of cookbooks and is the editor-in-chief of Sandra Lee Magazine.
