In honor of Black History Month, Tuskegee Airmen and other prominent African-Americans spoke at La Salle Academy in the East Village last month. In appreciation of La Salle’s dedication in educating the underserved for 160 years, the Tuskegee Airmen have offered special scholarships for graduating La Salle seniors. A proclamation by Governor Paterson, declaring Wed., Feb. 11, “Black History Day at La Salle Academy,” was read to the student body by his regional representatives, Khari Edwards and Sandra Hawkins.
