A canary-yellow ribbon and sign on Avenue A supports the redo of the election in the Ukraine. The East Village’s Ukrainian community is very much behind the “orange” faction in the Ukraine, mostly western Urkrainians who don’t want their country to fall back under Russian control. Ukrainians from the Russianized eastern Ukraine support the pro-Russian candidate and are known as the “blues.” Each side wears its color.
