Shooting in Washington Heights Wednesday night leaves man dead

A 44-year-old man is dead after being gunned down Wednesday night in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan.

Police responded to a 911 call of an assault at West 163rd Street and Riverside Drive at around 10 p.m. and discovered the victim with gunshot wounds to the head and chest.

The victim was transported by EMS to Lincoln Hospital where he was declared dead. There have been no arrests.

The man’s name has yet to be released, pending family notification. A police spokesperson was unable to provide any further details.
