Downtown residents are encouraged to make their voices heard by attending upcoming meetings for the NY Rising Community Reconstruction Program, which will help determine how $25 million in state funding is spent to help our neighborhood recover from Hurricane Sandy and prepare for future storms.
Discussions will include flood protection for places like Hudson River Park and Battery Park, disaster preparedness and response planning and vital support for community organizations.
The next public meeting will take place on Sat., March 1 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Village Community School Auditorium (272-278 W. 10th St.). Another open house will take place later that same day, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the Southbridge Towers community room (90 Beekman St.). And a third meeting will take place on Sun., March 2 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Confucius Plaza community room (33 Bowery).
