Suspect sought for firing BB gun at Brooklyn synagogue and young Jewish man

The NYPD is looking for a suspect who fired a BB gun at a Brooklyn synagogue and a Jewish teenager on Monday afternoon.

According to police, at 2:49 p.m. on May 16 an unknown individual in a black SUV was traveling south down Spencer Street. After approaching Yavoshna Toras Moshe, located at 81 Spencer Street, the suspect fired an airsoft BB gun, shattering the synagogue’s front window.

The suspect then drove past an 18-year-old man, who was walking on the sidewalk wearing traditional Jewish attire, and fired the pellet gun, hitting the victim in the neck. The vehicle then fled down Spencer Street.

The victim suffered a minor injury and refused medical attention at the scene. The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident.

Police released a photo and video of the car, described as a black SUV, possibly a mid-to-late 2000’s Ford Explorer, from the incident location:
