Suspect sought for punching man and spouting anti-Asian words in Harlem assault

The NYPD is looking for a suspect who assaulted a man in Harlem in a suspected hate crime last month.

According to police, at 10:10 p.m. on Feb. 15 a 27-year-old man was in front of Fred Samuel Park, on Lenox Avenue between West 139th and 140th streets. As he was walking to his car, an unknown man pushed the victim.

When asked why he was pushed, the suspect said, “F—ing Chinese, go back to China.” The suspect proceeded to punch the victim in the face, causing pain and swelling. The suspect then fled the scene eastbound on West 139th Street.
