Unable to tour but not content to sit still, SUSU releases an EP (recorded last September) this Friday and a celebration is in order.

Co-leaders of the band Liza Colby (The Liza Colby Sound) and Kia Warren (Revel In Dimes) will be hanging out in the open storefront window at East Village Vintage from 4-8 p.m., selling  (and signing) copies of the EP Panther City, a mix of covers and originals that the band describes as “rock and roll punk meets bluesy psychedelia.” T-shirts will also be available for sale and the event will be lubricated with spirits provided by Ilegal Mescal, who sponsored the making of the disc as part of their Untitled Music Project.

Holding the release party at East Village Vintage was a no-brainer.  “We like to support local businesses and this is one of our favorite vintage shops. In our first promo shots, we were wearing outfits from their store.”

Maegan Hayward, co-owner of the shop, is more than happy that they chose EVV. “Liza has been a part of the store since we opened! We love the band we’re thrilled to have them.”

SUSU will be at East Village Vintage, 545 East 12th St., from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13.
