The Strand’s Fulton St. annex was mostly empty Monday, the day after the store closed for good. Crowds scooped most of the last books strewn around the store Sunday at a dollar a piece. An employee said Monday these remaining books were headed up to the main store on Broadway and 12th St., which is staying open. Strand says rising rents on construction-plagued Fulton St. drove them out of the Seaport.
