This self-described “volunteer” — a photographer recently arrived from Germany and living in Williamsburg — was going around watering the enigmatic “pocket plants” a couple of weeks ago that recently appeared on park fences around the Village. The pocket plants above were at Bleecker Playground, at Bleecker and Hudson Sts. Others, at the southwest corner of Passannante Playground, at Houston St. and Sixth Ave., apparently weren’t as popular, and were taken down; a man who lived across from them reportedly complained that they ruined “the line of the fence.”
