ALTERNATE SIDE PARKING IS IN EFFECT ALL WEEK
The New York City Half Marathon will head Downtown 7 a.m. to noon Sunday and close several streets in Lower Manhattan: the southbound West Side Highway between 44th St. and the Battery Park Underpass, the Battery Park Underpass to the F.D.R. Drive, Old Slip between South and Water Sts., and Water St. between Old Slip and Wall St. This means that the southbound F.D.R. will see lots of extra traffic. Also, those of you who live in Battery Park City or park at Pier 40 may have a tough time getting your cars out.
Midtown will be hardest hit by the 252nd annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Fifth Ave. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday but Lower Manhattan will feel the domino effect. The limits of the parade are 42nd St. to 79th St. Consequently drivers will be avoiding the Queens-Midtown and Lincoln tunnels and heading Downtown to the Williamsburg, Manhattan, and Brooklyn bridges, and the Holland Tunnel.
Lower Manhattan’s St. Patrick’s Day parade will be an all-day weekend affair on Stone St. between Broad St. and Hanover Square, and on Mill Lane between Stone St. and S, William St.
All Manhattan-bound lanes of the Brooklyn Bridge will close 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 12:01 a.m. to 7 a.m. Saturday, 12:01 a.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday, and 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday and Tuesday.
In the Battery Park Underpass, the south tube (from West St. to the F.D.R.) will completely close 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday to Friday and 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday through late June.
On West St. / Route 9A, one lane in each direction will close between West Thames and Vesey Sts. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.
Thames St. will close between Greenwich St. and Trinity Pl. 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday through Friday.
Chambers St. will fully close between Broadway and Church St. 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Many construction sites have orange signs that temporarily restrict parking alongside permanent signs like “No Parking 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.”
What does this mean? After 6 p.m., can I park near the construction site?
