Susan Stetzer, district manager of Community Board 3, said she is following up reports about the disabled “Cube” sculpture at Astor Pl. The public, spinnable sculpture donated to the city in 1967, officially known as “The Alamo,” first was rocking dangerously on its base when it was spun, Jim “Mosaic Man” Power recently reported. Shortly thereafter, it got stuck and no longer can be spun. “We’re trying to get it inspected — to see if it’s not dangerous,” Stetzer said, adding she went by to check it out herself. She’s been in contact with the city Department of Transportation about it, she said.
