A 38-year-old man was shot dead in an East Flatbush apartment Wednesday, and a second man was injured but is expected to survive, according to cops.

Police responded to a call near the corner of Clarkson and Utica avenues just before 7 pm to find a 22-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his stomach. The victim was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County in stable condition, but a preliminary investigation at the scene led officers inside — where they discovered a second victim who’d been shot dead.

The second victim — whose identity is being withheld pending proper family notification — was found in a second floor apartment with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. Emergency Medical Services pronounced the man dead at the scene.

That investigation also led cops to a suspected shooter who was barricading himself inside of an apartment.

There are no arrests as of yet and the investigation remains ongoing according to police, who could not provide any additional information about the incident or the suspect.

As crime remains high across the city, shooting incidents are actually down year-to-date in the 67th Precinct, where Wednesday night’s shooting occurred, according to Police Department Data. There have been 13 reported shooting incidents in the precinct as of May 22, when the most recent data is available — down 35% from 20 during the same time frame in 2021.
