Two people rescued from Brooklyn house fire: FDNY

Firefighters rescued two people from a Brooklyn house fire that broke out on Tuesday morning.

At just before 9 a.m. on May 17, FDNY personnel responded to a fire at 531 East 26th St. in Flatbush. Firefighters were met with heavy smoke and fire at the back of the home on the second floor.

12 units with 60 firefighters and EMS personnel were deployed to the scene and used two hose lines to quickly suppress the fire, which was brought under control by 9:14 a.m. Two civilians were rescued using the bucket truck, and one of the victims suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the FDNY Fire Marshal.
