Vietnam War anniversary photos

April 30 marks the 40th anniversary of the Fall of Saigon, bringing an official end to the Vietnam War.

The U.S. had pulled the last of their combat troops out of Vietnam by 1973, but a strong presence of U.S. military remained in Saigon until the city fell, forcing the largest helicopter evacuation in history.

In honor of the somber anniversary, we take a look back at NYC during the war.
