“Village Revolution — The Legends Continues” was the theme of Village Care of New York’s fundraising gala held Nov. 15 at Strata nightclub at 21st St. and Broadway.

The Legends of the Village celebration is an annual event held by Village Care to raise funds to benefit its SeniorChoices programs, a system of care and services for older adults, and to honor individuals and businesses for their contributions to the community.

Village Care, a nonprofit organization, honors important Village figures and publishes a celebrity Legends of the Village calendar as part of its fundraising efforts.

The Legends awards, sponsored by Village Care, recognize that “the spirit of Greenwich Village is one of activism, tolerance and a desire to improve and serve the community.”

This year, Village Care honored WCBS radio deejay Cousin Brucie (Bruce Morrow) with the William F. Passannante Award for his contributions in entertainment and activist Ann Wyatt with the Lenore Zola Award; Wyatt is one of the community members who founded the nonprofit Village Nursing Home, the first program of the organization that is today Village Care.

Businesses that were honored were Li-Lac Chocolates, Murray’s cheese shop and the Oscar Wilde Book Shop.
