At VillageCare’s 12th Annual Legends of the Village Awards gala on Nov. 8, former Mayor and longtime Greenwich Village resident Ed Koch spoke, above, after being given the Distinguished Service Award by David Sidwell, to Koch’s left, VillageCare’s board chairperson. Reverend John P. McGuire, pastor of St. Joseph’s Church, at Washington Place and Sixth Ave., received the Lenore Zola Award for Community Service. Bradford Perkins, chairman, C.E.O. and founder of Perkins Eastman architects, received the Village Business Legend Award. More than 300 people attended this year’s Legends gala, which raises funds that benefit VillageCare’s array of programs that serve older adults, persons living with H.I.V./AIDS and those in need of medical and rehabilitation services. The event was held at Bridgewaters at the South St. Seaport.
