W.T.C. workers forum

There will be a free public forum to address the injuries sustained by the World Trade Center’s first responders on Nov. 20.

Health advocates are calling for the continuing medical surveillance for the first responders on Sept. 11, as some diseases related to their service might only become evident decades later.

Supporters also call on federal leaders to establish a criterion in order to better prepare for any mental and physical issues that might arise from future disasters.

The forum is sponsored by The New York County Lawyers’ Association’s Labor Relations and Employment Law Committees and will be held on Monday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. at 14 Vesey St.

Forum participants include Dr. Robin Herbert, co-director of the World Trade Center Worker and Volunteer Medical Screening Program, Mark Solomon, senior law judge of the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board, and Norman Siegal, former executive director of the New York Civil Liberties Union.
