Two of the couple's children, both under the age of 2, were inside the home at the time of the shootings but were unharmed, police said at a news conference Thursday night near the home on Woodside Drive between Flower and Neighborhood roads. The couple were identified as Jenni Lee Street, 28, and Wayne Street, 29, said Det. Lt. Kevin Beyrer of the Suffolk Homicide Squad, adding that the family had lived in the neighborhood for just a few months. Police said they arrived at the house Thursday afternoon after receiving a 911 call at about 4:40 p.m. Four of the couple's children had arrived home from school and found themselves locked out before walking to a nearby ice cream shop seeking help, Beyrer said. A store customer accompanied them back to the house, Beyrer said, and after peering through a window, saw the bodies of the couple. It was unknown Thursday night when the pair died and police said they had no motive for the shootings. Beyrer said Suffolk police officers had never been called to the house in the time the family had lived there. The six children were taken to a hospital for observation and are being interviewed by officials with Suffolk Child Protective Services. None of the six were injured, police said. Three pit bulls inside the home were unharmed, police said. By CANDICE RUUD email@example.com @CandiceRuud Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Comments Comments section is temporarily on hold.
