New age musician Paul Winter gathers his Consort — himself on soprano saxophone, cellist Eugene Friesen, double-reed player Paul McCandless, keyboardist Paul Sullivan, guitarist Paul Meyers, bassist Eliot Wadopian, drummer Jamey Haddad, Brazilian percussionist Café da Silva, organist Tim Brumfield, and sun-gong maestro Scott Sloan — for his 36th annual Winter Solstice Celebration. The Consort is joined by emerging voices from Brazil: Fabiana Cozza, making her New York debut, and singer/ guitarist Renato Braz. The 25 dancers and drummers of the Forces of Nature Dance Theatre, led by artistic director Abdel Salaam, will premiere a new piece choreographed especially for this celebration.
