Thousands of people mourned the loss of FDNY EMT Yadira Arroyo Saturday during a funeral service at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Roman Catholic Church in the Bronx.

Arroyo, a 14-year veteran of the FDNY, was killed on March 16, 2017, when a carjacker ran her down with her own ambulance while she was on duty, police said. She leaves behind five children.

In the days following her death, Arroyo has been remembered by her colleagues as a loving mother who enjoyed serving the community.
