Thousands of New Yorkers rolled out the green carpet on Monday for St. Patrick’s Day parade that saw a rainbow of goodwill shine through Midtown despite the dreary weather.
The parade kicked off from 44th Street and 5th Avenue, with Mayor Eric Adams leading the charge while waving the Irish flag. He was flanked by the NYPD’s band who played music to the roaring crowd lined up on either side of the street. Gov. Kathy Hochul also walked the route, waving to onlookers wearing shades of green in honor of the celebration.
Both the heads of state and city swung by Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, where they met with Cardinal Timothy Dolan.
The parade spanned 35 blocks, culminating at 79th Street and 5th Avenue.
