A Bronx man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his coworker to death at their place of employment on Monday.

Authorities say that at 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 24, the NYPD responded to a call regarding an assault in progress at the Riverdale Chrysler Jeep Dealership, located at 5869 Broadway. Upon their arrival, officers found 22-year-old Brandon Almonte, unconscious and unresponsive, with multiple stab wounds to his neck.

EMS rushed Almonte to New York-Presbyterian Hospital/The Allen Pavilion, where he was pronounced dead.

Officers took 53-year-old Jose Almodovar into custody at the scene. A spokesperson for the NYPD stated that Almodovar and Almonte were coworkers at the dealership, however they could not confirm the motive behind the attack at this time.

Almodovar was later charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
