The NYPD is looking for a crook who is said to be behind three recent morning robberies in Manhattan.

According to police, at 9 a.m. on Jan. 19, an 80-year-old woman was waiting at the elevator on the 6 train platform at the 86th Street station when she was approached by an unknown man. The man snatched her purse, but two good Samaritans intervened and got the victim’s purse back.

The suspect reached into his pants pocket and feigned that he had a weapon, but he ultimately jumped the turnstile and fled the station.

The suspect struck again on Jan. 21. At 8:30 a.m. that day, the crook approached a 49-year-old woman at the Bowery station and snatched her Metrocard from her hand. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Finally, at 8:15 a.m. on Jan. 30, the suspect walked into a business located at 1104 Lexington Avenue and took items from the display without paying for it. When confronted by an employee, the crook pulled out a knife and threatened the employee.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned man in his 30s with a salt and pepper goatee and standing 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a black winter cap, black gloves, a dark colored coat with a fur-lined hood, dark colored pants, and red sneakers.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
