The NYPD is investigating two reported cases of dorm break-ins, one of which led to a sexual assault, by two women who say that their attacker broke into their dorm while they were sleeping at the Bronx’s Manhattan College.

According to published reports, the incidents took place on two separate occasions at the Overlook Manor dorm, located at West 238th Street and Waldo Avenue.

The first incident reportedly took place at 4 a.m. on Jan. 26. The 21-year-old victim woke up to find an unknown man in her room, who sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene. The second incident took place on Feb. 9 at 3 a.m. — the 20-year-old victim woke up to find a unknown man hovering above her. The suspect fled the scene after the victim screamed.

Reports say that the suspect is described as a man standing between 5 feet, 7 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall and wearing a dark colored hoodie. At this time, the NYPD is investigating and working to figure out if it was the same person who committed each incident.

“Our students’ safety and security are our highest priority at Manhattan College. Our Public Safety and Residence Life staff are continuing to do everything they can to support our students and ensure their well being 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.” said a representative from Manhattan College.

Manhattan College confirmed that a Manhattan College Public Safety officer stationed in the lobby of Overlook Manor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In response to these events, Public Safety and Residence Life staff has increased its presence in Overlook Manor, and in all of Manhattan College’s residence halls.
