Police booked on murder charges the uncle of a 29-year-old man who was killed in a deadly Queens stabbing early on Sunday morning.
Law enforcement sources said Neraz Roberts, 29, was knifed to death during a dispute with his uncle — Mahadeo Sukhnandan, 50 — inside his basement apartment on the 8800 block of 187th Place in South Jamaica at about 4:57 a.m. on June 12.
Officers from the 103rd Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about the incident, found Roberts at the location with multiple stab wounds to his back and right hand.
Responding EMS units pronounced him dead at the scene.
Sources familiar with the case said Roberts and Sukhnandan had been engaged in a verbal dispute prior to the deadly attack. The motive for the argument was unknown and under investigation.
Police said the Sukhnandan was taken into custody at the scene, and brought to the 103rd Precinct stationhouse, where he was charged later on Sunday.
Several neighbors, who declined to give their names, said they weren’t at all surprised by the tragedy.
“The police were always here. They would get into loud shouting matches all the time,” said one resident.
“A troubled house with many incidents on the block. I’ve seen the cops at that house more than 12 times,” added another neighbor.
