Inside the Mets’ 11-game win streak

  • The Mets have scored 57 runs during the streak, including four or more runs in nine of the 11 games and six or more runs six times. They’ve won five games by one run.

  • The Mets' pitching staff has a 2.72 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 4.28 strikeout-to-walk ratio during the streak. Starters have posted a 2.78 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 6.00 strikeout-to-walk ratio. The bullpen has combined for a 2.57 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, and 2.72 strikeout to walk ratio.

  • Jacob deGrom has been the Mets’ best starter during the streak. He’s allowed 13 hits and one walk in 13 1/3 scoreless innings during two starts, striking out 11.

  • Lucas Duda is 15-for-41 (.365) during the streak with six doubles, one home run, four walks and seven RBIs. He has a 1.05 on-base plus slugging percentage during the 11 games.

  • Michael Cuddyer has a hit in seven of the 10 games he’s played in during the streak. He’s 11-for-35 (.314) with three doubles, a triple, a home run, five walks and seven RBIs.

  • Daniel Murphy has had a slow start to the 2015 season and is batting only .200 (7-for-35) during the streak. But Murphy has struck out just twice in 40 plate appearances and has struck out only four times all year.

  • Juan Lagares batted .200 without a walk or extra-base hit in his first five games. Since the start of the Mets’ 11-game win streak, however, Lagares is hitting .309 (13-for-42) with a double and three walks. Oh, he's also played some amazing defense, too.

  • Wilmer Flores hit .125 with one walk and no extra-base hits in his first five games. He’s 11-for-32 (.343) with a double, three home runs and two walks in eight games during the streak. Flores raised his slugging percentage from .125 on April 11 to .464 as of April 23 and his on-base plus slugging percentage from .301 to .772.

  • Terry Collins hasn’t utilized his bench too often during the streak and pinch-hitters have recorded just 12 at-bats in the 11-game span. Hitters off the bench have gone 2-for-12 with three walks.

The Mets haven’t lost since April 11, reeling off 11 straight wins against National League East rivals. They beat the Braves in Atlanta on April 12 to start the streak before capturing a three-game set against the Phillies at Citi Field, sweeping the Marlins in a four-game series at Citi and beating the Braves at Citi in a three-game series. The Mets have never won more than 11 games in a row and haven’t done so since June 17 to June 29, 1990.
