"Lindsey and I have mutually decided to stop dating," Woods, 39, posted on his website, under the banner "A Personal Message from Tiger." "I have great admiration, respect and love for Lindsey and I'll always cherish our time together," he went on. "She has been amazing with [Woods' daughter] Sam and [son] Charlie and my entire family. Unfortunately, we lead very hectic lives and are both competing in demanding sports. It's difficult to spend time together." Vonn, 30, wrote on her Facebook page, "After nearly three years together, Tiger and I have mutually decided to end our relationship. I will always cherish the memories that we've created together. Unfortunately, we both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart. I will always admire and respect Tiger. He and his beautiful family will always hold a special place in my heart." The two had gone public with their relationship only two years ago, when Woods announced on March 18, 2013, that he and Olympic gold medalist Vonn had been "friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating." Vonn that same day had tweeted, "I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods." Woods -- who tied for 17th place last month in the Masters tournament and competes Thursday at The Players Championship -- underwent a highly public, acrimonious breakup with his wife, Elin Nordegren, in November 2009, shortly after their fifth wedding anniversary. Amid accusations of multiple infidelities on his part, the two divorced on Aug. 23, 2010. They have two children: daughter Sam Alexis, who turns 8 next month, and son Charlie Axel, 6. Vonn, who won her seventh World Cup downhill title in March, is divorced from skier Thomas Vonn. The two were married from September 2007 to January 2013. They have no children. By FRANK LOVECE.
