R&B singer Ne-Yo and his wife Crystal Renay have welcomed their first child. “Prince Shaffer Chimere Smith Jr has arrived! 6lbs 8oz, 19 inches,” Renay wrote Wednesday, captioning an Instagram photo of her hand, with a hospital bracelet, holding a newborn’s hand. “It was the scariest delivery ever and I ended up getting a emergency C-section cause of complications but with the help of my amazing doctor Dr. Sheryl Ross and my super calming husband Ne-Yo I was able to get through it all and come out with best reward in the world . . . SJ!!!!! #BestDayOfMyLife.” The couple married on Feb. 20. Ne-Yo already is dad to daughter Madilyn, 5, and son Mason, 4, with former girlfriend Monyetta Shaw.
