Port Authority Bus Terminal explosion: MTA restores service on subway lines

An explosion in the subway station under the Port Authority Bus Terminal Monday morning caused a number of service disruptions, the MTA said.

The blast occurred around 7:20 a.m. in the underground passageway that connects Times Square and Eighth Avenue, police said. One man, identified by police as Akayed Ullah, 27, was taken into custody and three civilians suffered minor injuries, according to cops.

Several subway lines were impacted by the explosion, which Mayor Bill de Blasio described as an attempted terror attack, but the MTA had restored full service by 2 p.m.
