L train shutdown: Uber rides now $2.75 from Brooklyn to Manhattan

The end is in sight for the L train shutdown: only two more weekends!

And to celebrate, or help people get out of Brooklyn, Uber is lowering its special fares to a flat rate of $2.75 per UberPool between Brooklyn and Manhattan on the L line.

An Uber map shows the exact range of service from the special deal, extended out to the Morgan Ave. stop in Bushwick and out to the Westernmost part of Manhattan at 14th St.

Note that the $2.75 rate is still applicable during surge pricing, so the rush from Bedford Ave. to Union Square every night won’t have to be the worst.

The Meatball Shop is also offering a special: show your server your Uber receipt and get a free ice cream sandwich with purchase!

We’ve heard a few stories of people making new friends (or “friends”) in these shared UberPools, so the L train shutdown may just be the best boost to your weekend social life!
