The department said Sunday night it will focus on 21 precincts within the city's five boroughs, concentrating on infractions such as driving while using a cellphone, driving while texting, running red lights, speeding, failing to yield to pedestrians and parking violations that create hazards, among other behaviors. The effort runs through June 1, according to the department, and is part of its work to reduce traffic fatalities in the city.
